Description of organisation
ACT, VO/1491, was established to bring people together to devise and apply practical and sustainable solutions to elevate the quality of life on the Maltese Islands. We believe that Malta has the potential to become a pioneer for Mediterranean ecological prosperity and constructive cultural civic engagement. ACT works to ensure community-led initiatives that enable accessibility for the enjoyment of and participation in nature, along with the manifestation of a green economy with a social purpose, delivering nature-based solutions and maintaining them.
ACT strives to conserve and promote native flora species, promote emerging artists, arts in public spaces, and bring about constructive civic engagement. By promoting the rehabilitation of our unique landscapes in an ecological, cohesive, and scalable manner, we aim to ensure long-term resilience and success.
All ACT activities are coordinated and implemented solely through the sheer passion and dedication of the volunteers. ACT is made up of around 70 volunteers who work to empower people to learn, pro-act, and do what inspires them. As an NGO we believe in people who are willing to do something good and in their commitment to learning, we are open to listening to anyone who is ready to dedicate time to devise and apply solutions that matter.
